THREE LITTLE BIRDS ARTIST RESIDENCY
Nirma Siesenop is an artist from Sri Lanka who has been living in Germany since the 1990s. She later studied the works of contemporary masters. Her own works blend nature and abstract forms, using bold colors and deliberate elements to showcase the beauty of the planet. Siesenop's works move between figurative and abstract art and combine various techniques. It is not what she sees that impresses her, but the impressions that nature leaves on her. Recently, she has devoted herself to graphic works, which she digitally alters, thus developing her art in a contemporary direction.
Siesenop's works are recognized worldwide and have been exhibited in cities such as Cologne, Berlin, and at Art Basel/Superfine in Miami. Her works are part of private collections throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, and have been acquired by collectors in over ten countries. Siesenop's practice has garnered a growing international following, particularly among those intrigued by her experimental approach to materiality and aesthetic form.
"My work explores the ongoing conflict between humankind and nature. I am deeply concerned with how rapidly we are losing the beauty of our natural world as a result of modern, fast-paced human behavior. No matter where we live or what language we speak, this loss affects us all.
It would be tragic if, in the future, only works of art remained as reminders of nature’s splendor. Through my art, I aim to awaken awareness and inspire action. For centuries, nature has been an endless source of inspiration for artists; today, art must also become a means of protecting that very source of inspiration.
My vision is to encourage reflection and responsibility—to remind us that caring for the wonders of our planet is not only essential for our survival, but also for the preservation of beauty itself."
