Prageeth Rathnayake is an independent, Colombo-based artist focused on creating visual art production rooted in social political discourse and expressionism.

Inspired by his father, an applied artist, he began experimenting with visual art in 1997.

Prageeth holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Kelaniya. His educational background supports a practice dedicated to making strong contemporary statements.

With seven solo exhibitions presented to date, his body of work showcases a sustained commitment to figurative expression that mirrors and critiques contemporary society and political landscapes, establishing him as a dedicated voice in modern visual arts.
